July 2019:  Lunch in honour of former Prime Minister of Bhutan, Tshering Tobgay

Centre for Escalation of Peace hosted a lunch in honour of former Prime Minister of Bhutan, Tshering Tobgay on July 6, 2019, at Party Cottage of Gymkhana Club in Delhi. The chairman of the centre, Arun Kapur received him and the esteemed guests. The invitees included H.E. General V. Namgyal, Ambassador of Bhutan to India; Ashok Malik, Press Secretary to the President to India; Ravi Singh, Secretary General of WWF-India, Dinesh Singh, former Vice Chancellor of Delhi University; Raj Chengappa, Managing Editor of India Today; and other friends of Bhutan and the centre. 

Tshering Tobgay socialized with the guests and had invigorating discussions on diverse topics that included management of media, mainstreaming alternative energy sources, wildlife habitat, and Bhutanese foreign policy in connection to its special relationship with India. The former Prime Minister was in Delhi en route to Mumbai on a private visit to meet friends. 

Centre for Escalation of Peace members recall their regular interactions with Tshering Tobgay, in particular during his tenure as Prime Minister. His support and patronage for the activities of the centre that focus on further strengthening the India-Bhutan relationship are remembered with great appreciation.
