India-Bhutan Youth Summit, September 2024
The Centre for Escalation of Peace (CEP), Royal Institute for Governance and Strategic Studies (RIGSS), and Pallavan Learning Systems (PLS) jointly organised the 3rd India-Bhutan Youth Summit from 9–18 September 2024.
Held in Bhutan, the 10-day immersive programme brought together participants from both nations for a unique blend of learning and adventure. Highlights included a three-day trek through Bhutan’s pristine landscapes, interactive sessions on key themes such as mental health, education, technology, social development, and international diplomacy, as well as meetings with eminent Bhutanese leaders.
Participants explored pressing issues, exchanged ideas, and gained deeper insights into Bhutan’s governance, cultural values, and aspirations. Towards the end of the summit, they reflected on their experiences through individual reports, group project proposals, and essays on the theme “What Makes You an Adult,” encouraging personal growth and critical thinking.
Looking ahead, organisers hope participants will serve as ambassadors for the India-Bhutan Youth Summit community, fostering lasting ties and promoting cooperation, friendship, and mutual understanding between the two countries.
