February 2017: India-Bhutan Cultural Exchange and Art Camp in New Delhi and Varanasi, India

A group of distinguished artists from Bhutan and India came together for an Art Camp in New Delhi and Varanasi from 3 to 9 February 2017.

The five artists from Bhutan were Karma Wangdi, Jampel Cheda, Maiyesh Kumar Tamang, Phurba Singh Tamang and Tshewang Rinzin. The four artists from India were GR Iranna, Rajendra Tiku, Jagannath Panda and Manjunath Kamath. (Kishore Shinde, artist from India who had participated in the Bhutan-leg of the programme, unfortunately could not participate in the Indian-leg of the programme due to other commitments.)

During the 6-day programme, the participants visited the Indian Art Fair, Kiran Nadar Museum of Art and Galley Espace. They took a stroll through the bustling art gallery district in Lado Sarai, New Delhi as well as garnered inspiration from the sights and sounds during their heritage walk through Old Delhi. The participants also traveled to Varanasi to visit the Ghats on the Ganges and the old city of Banaras.
